Dental exams

Routine dental exams are essential to maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Additionally, they can help to avoid the financial costs associated with advanced treatment plans when problems arise.

Digital Radiography

With the DEXIS Digital Radiography, we can capture high-quality images of your teeth and roots, allowing Dr. Kaci Tibbetts to diagnose and treat any developing dental problems quickly and efficiently.

Intra-oral Photos

Using real-time videos and pictures when communicating with patients creates immediate impact and can aid in the understanding of clinical findings and treatment recommendations.

Dental Surgery/Extractions

Extractions may be indicated for several reasons: severe tooth decay, broken teeth, infection, pathology, advanced periodontal disease, removal for optimal orthodontic facilitation, and wisdom teeth/3rd molar removal.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants are becoming an increasingly popular method for replacing missing teeth. In this procedure, a titanium post is surgically fused with the jawbone and acts as an anchor for a natural looking false tooth.

Root Canal Therapy

A root canal is a hollow area inside a tooth that contains a combination of nerves, blood vessels and soft tissue known as “dental pulp.” This procedure may be indicated when these tissues become infected, swollen, abscessed, or cause pain.

Restorative Fillings

Dental fillings are a restorative treatment for cavities. We simply remove the decay from your tooth and fill it in with a restorative material.

Complete Dentures

Full dentures are replacement teeth that are fitted into an acrylic base that is crafted to look like your gums. An upper denture features a plate, which covers the roof of your mouth, while the lower denture is horseshoe-shaped and rests securely on the gum and bone tissues.

Partial Dentures

When some of the teeth are missing, removable partial dentures are a replacement option. They are usually attached to a gingival colored acrylic base and are sometimes reinforced with metal. This type of prosthesis has the teeth attached to the base and the entire appliance is removable.

TMJ Therapy

The temporomandibular joint is a hinge that connects your lower jaw to the rest of the skull, near the ear. It allows for up/down and side to side movement to allow for talking, chewing, and yawning. There are many different causes for disorders of the TMJ and various corresponding treatment modalities.

Night Guards

Night guards are a great way to protect your teeth and gums from clenching and grinding during sleep. Each night guard is made custom to ensure a perfect fit and maximize protection. Night guards are often used as a treatment modality for temporomandibular joint disfunction.

Sports Guards

Sports Guards are imperative to protect your teeth during contact activities. It is a protective device for the mouth that covers the teeth to prevent and reduce injury to the teeth, jaws, lips, and gums.

Sedation Dentistry

There are several levels of sedation dentistry. It is generally used to facilitate a dental procedure with reduced fear and anxiety for a more favorable overall experience.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral Cancer Screening is an examination performed by a dentist to look for signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in your mouth.

Dental Retainers

Retainers are custom-made oral devices that hold the teeth in position for stabilization. They can be made out of several different material options tailored to the needs and wants of the patient.

Dental Sealants

Dental Sealants are a dental treatment intended to prevent tooth decay. Deep pits and fissures are at very high risk for tooth decay. Sealants are a resin based material placed in these pits and fissures to fill them in, creating a smooth surface that is easy to clean.

Cavity Prevention

Cavity prevention is key. We offer a variety of ways to try to prevent cavity formation. These include, but are not limited to: prescription fluoride tooth paste, prescription fluoride mouthrinse, oral hygiene instruction and tips, dental sealants, nutritional counseling, habit evaluation, fluoride tray treatments, etc.

Pediatric Dentistry

We offer treatment to patients of all ages, including children.

Wisdom Tooth Extractions

As your mouth develops and your adult teeth come in, a lack of space may make it difficult for your wisdom teeth to break through to the surface. Because the teeth are struggling to erupt, they often grow at an angle in an attempt to fit, ultimately causing other issues. If ignored, your teeth can become overcrowded or infected, which may lead to tooth decay and gum disease.

Wisdom tooth removal is incredibly common and has become a very standard procedure in modern-day dentistry. At KLT Dentistry, we recommend X-rays to monitor the progress of these teeth. Monitoring wisdom teeth in the early stages of development allows us to resolve any problems that may arise, preventing damage to the surrounding teeth as well as any other complications.

Should wisdom tooth removal become necessary, Dr. Tibbetts will discuss the next steps that should be taken, as well as work with the oral surgeon to ensure you’re provided the best care possible. Based on research and patient satisfaction, KLT Dentistry works with some of the most highly recommended and top specialists in San Antonio. If you’re experiencing pain or discomfort and believe it to be caused by your wisdom teeth, call KLT Dentistry to set-up a consultation. We’re happy to discuss and answer any questions you may have regarding wisdom tooth removal and all that’s involved.
