MAINTAINING YOUR PICTURE PERFECT SMILE WITH GENERAL DENTISTRY

While a proper brushing and flossing routine is an important part of practicing good oral hygiene, regular dental cleanings through professional general dentistry are highly recommended to assist in maintaining a healthy smile. Dental cleanings are necessary as they remove tartar and plaque build-up that your home hygiene routine may leave behind. Additionally, regular dental cleanings assist in preventing the development of gum disease - a disease that, if left untreated, can eventually result in tooth loss.

It’s never too early, or late, to begin visits to KLT Dentistry for your dental cleanings. We accept patients of all ages, with current patients ranging in age from six months to 102 years-old!
For individuals with overall good oral hygiene and health, a dental cleaning twice a year is optimal. However, if gum disease is evident, we may recommend a dental cleaning three to four times a year in order to combat and prevent further damage to teeth and gums.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral Cancer Screening is an examination performed by a dentist to look for signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in your mouth.

Gingivitis Therapy

Our hygienists perform an initial cleaning to remove bacteria and plaque. They then provide you with a prescription rinse to use at home for 2 to 3 weeks, after which you'll receive an evaluation to determine if you routine preventive care appointments or if more specific attention is required to prevent periodontal disease.

Periodontal Therapy (Scaling & Root Planing)

Scaling and root planing is a deep cleaning below the gumline used to treat gum disease. Gum disease is caused by plaque buildup which forms on your teeth, and if they aren’t cleaned well, the bacteria in plaque can cause your gums to become inflamed.

Dental Sealants

Dental Sealants are a dental treatment intended to prevent tooth decay. Deep pits and fissures are at very high risk for tooth decay. Sealants are a resin based material placed in these pits and fissures to fill them in, creating a smooth surface that is easy to clean.
